What's involved in getting a web site up and running? − The process of a site creation can be broken down into five broad categories:
Planning
Design and construction
Domain Name registration
Hosting
Promotion

The planning stage consumes the greatest time, while site promotion is an ongoing process.

How much is this going to cost me? − This question is unfortunately too broad to answer. Every site will differ in size, nature, complexity etc. so it will be determined on factors like these. In all cases, it's best to contact us with your requirements so we can best advise, based on your own particular requirements.

How many pages should I have or do I need? − This really boils down to the message or information you want to convey effectively. The answer to this question lies with the nature of your site. It could range from 1 to more than 100 pages although each and every page must have a clear purpose. A typical product or service selling site should generally consist (as a minimum) of the following pages:
Home Page
Profile (who you are, what you are etc.)
Main marketing page
FAQ (answers Frequently AskedQuestions)
Pricing / services
Contact information
Feedback / order form

What if I just want one page? − Absolutely no problem. In fact, we strongly suggest to get at least one page online to achieve a web presence. Whilst you'll likely need more pages in order for your site to become effective, we will help you develop a plan to accommodate this. Start small but do start now.

I've seen free web page makers; why pay a designer? − Almost anyone can create a web site with software available today. However, the success of a site is dependent on methodical planning and design that functions well and appeals visually to its intended audience. Software of this nature produce commonly used templates, so your site will lack flexibility and have the look of other common, software generated pages. Only a skilled, creative and an experienced web designer can create a tailored design for you, based on your own requirements. It's really a case of the level of professionalism you want to project to your audience and the effectiveness you want your site to achieve!

Why choose Rockstar Designs for my web design work? − With an abundance of designers available, you are right to ask this question. Rockstar Designs was created to help you in every possible way, plan, assist and develop the creation of your new site or improve an existing site and to provide you with honest, valuable information and resources. We trust the information and resources we provide on this site, verifies our sincerity to help you and your site become a success.

How long will it take to have a page or site completed? − This question is difficult to answer as it will depend on factors pertaining to your own requirements. As before, this comes down to the level of complexity and the nature of your site or page. We will however be better positioned once we know all the factors involved in your own case and be assured, we will commit to a mutually agreed schedule so there's no confusion from the start as to what is expected and when. You will be fully advised of this before commencement of any work.

I already have a page/site; can you help me improve it? − We sure can. Many semi-personal, self operated sites tend to lack style and a professional appearance and all are almost not effectively designed for higher Search Engine ranking. We will assess your site for free and advise what's most needed to be cost effective before we worry about frivolous details. A fully detailed plan of our suggestions (including costs) will be presented to you and it will be your decision on what, if any part of it, you'd like us to achieve for you. Please get in touch with us.

I'm not located near you; is this going to be a problem? − Although not ideal without face-to-face contact, the global nature of the Internet means web sites can be just as effectively designed and maintained from anywhere in the world, regardless of location. We are accessible through many online and offline communication means so it's no problem where you are in the world!

Will it cost me anything to get an estimate from you? − We welcome your contact and are proud of our flexibility to provide meaningful feedback. In most cases, we don't charge for an estimate request or the like. If circumstances are such that a great deal of time and effort on our part will be necessary to provide you with an estimate, we will advise beforehand of this and the cost involved. In all aspects of our service, we do not adhere to hidden or surprise billing; you will always be aware of any cost that are involved before any action is carried out on our part.

How do I know you can accommodate all my needs? − No designer can perform all aspects of web design (effectively) and we are no different. Our ongoing communication with you and the help in information and resources we provide to you will give us a clear idea of your intentions. Only at this point will we be in a position to inform you of what we can and can't do for you. We may offer alternative design related options but the final decision is always yours and we will respect that.

How can you assure me the quality of your design? − Like all designers, proof of quality can be attained by completed sites. This site is our best but just one example of evidence of our work quality. While quality in site design may mean different things to different people, we are of the opinion that HTML code validation, appearance, functionality and accessibility are the determining factors of quality. Some of these factors are hard to quantify as they are subjective but we will provide tools that can best determine the quality of work.

Do you have any specific terms or payment conditions? − We attempt to keep things as simple as possible but we adopt some specific conditions which you will be fully aware of before any agreement and payment are made by you.
[Top of page]
Do you offer any guarantee of your work? − As we intend to develop a mutually rewarding relationship with you, we want to gratify you completely with our service. We will complete fully what we have stated in our agreement until total satisfaction. Our reputation is our best guarantee as our past clients will testify.

Do you provide support after my site is completed? − Absolutely. While getting a site online is a major part of the job done, such things as updating, developing, maintaining and promoting your site begin. We will encourage and help you take an active role in your site development. We will offer you a flexible and cost-effective maintenance contract if you want to devote more time to the business of your site. In most general cases, we'll be happy to help where possible.

Alright, I've got a vague idea of what I want; what now? − We suggest you start by giving us a call and we will help you get started on planning your new website.

I still need help! − No problem. Please feel free to get in touch with us and we'll do our best to help you!
